JANUARY 2012 WORKSHOP - Tukaway Tote(tm)
NOTE: If you plan to attend, let SUSAN LANE know so she can order the correct
number of patterns -- you MUST have your own copy of the pattern to
attend workshop.
Pattern cost (payable to Susan Lane at the Workshop) - $10
Fabrics: Densely woven, thin fabric such a cotton batik, ripstop nylon, etc.
(at least 42" wide)
Main Fabric: For 20" x 22" Bag - 3/4 yard
For 16" x 18" Bag - 1/2 yard, or two Fat Quarters
Contrast Fabric (straps and pocket): 1/2 yard (note: 3/4 yard for two bags)
Notions: Basic Machine Sewing Supplies
Thread to Match Contrast Fabric
Chalk or other marking tool
6" x 24" Ruler
Rotary Cutter and Cutting Board (can be shared)
Iron and Iron Board (can be shared)
1" to 1.5" piece of Velcro, snap, or other fastener (Optional; recommended)
OPTIONAL Pre-Cutting:
Main Fabric: For larger Tote: two rectangles 21" x 24"
For smaller Tote: two rectangles 17.5" x 20.5"
Contrast Fabric: Three (3) strips 3" wide (for both sizes)
and For larger Tote: Rectangle 16" x 7.5" OR
For smaller Tote: Rectangle 14" x 6.75" [or 14" x 7"]
